LASER COMPONENTS USA Signs Exclusive Distribution Agreement with HOLOEYE Photonics

POSTED 02/06/2019

Spatial Light Modulators Expanding Company’s Optics Line with Spatial Light Modulators

Bedford, NH: LASER COMPONENTS USA, a specialized provider of laser and optoelectronic components in the US and Canada, has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with HOLOEYE Photonics to start selling their Spatial Light Modulators (SLMs) in North America. A live product demonstration will be on display at the SPIE Photonics West show, booth# 1751 in San Francisco, CA, February 05 – 07, 2019.

Spatial Light Modulators (SLMs) are used as an adaptive optical element to modulate the amplitude, phase, or polarization of light waves in space and time. Typical applications include machine vision, biophotonics, wavefront modulation, and holography; as well as laser beam shaping in material processing.

Based on translucent (LCD) or reflective (LCOS) liquid crystal microdisplays, HOLOEYE’s SLMs are available in a wide variety of wavelengths and resolutions. Furthermore, they come with a software package to configure and generate different optical functions, and an SDK to work with standard laboratory software and programming environments. Using HDMI ports of standard PC graphics cards, the SLMs can be used just like an external plug & play monitor without additional software or dedicated hardware.

Live demonstration and Workshop at SPIE Photonics West
At Photonics West, LASER COMPONENTS will promote the complete line of reflective LCOS and transmissive LC SLMs, including a demonstration of the PLUTO-2 device. A phase-only modulator based on a reflective LCOS microdisplay with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and 8.0 μm pixel pitch, currently offered in ten different configurations.

For more in-depth understanding of the technology and applications, Stefan Osten, Sales Manager HOLOEYE, will hold a workshop session on SLM interfaces and control software options for implementation into optical systems. The event is part of the SPIE Industry Workshop, hosted by LASER COMPONENTS, which will take place in the Moscone Center, exhibit level Room 11, Wednesday February 06, 2019.

“We are looking forward to the partnership with HOLOEYE and to increase our footprint in the North American market with standard and customized optical solutions,” said Mr. Huyen Vu, Sales Director at Laser Components USA.
